Welcome to the creative world of Xinchen "Crystal" Cao—a designer, illustrator, and storyteller based in New York City. With a passion for painting and children's illustration, Crystal brings warmth, emotion, and a touch of whimsy to her work.
Currently pursuing an MFA in Illustration at the School of Visual Arts (SVA), she specializes in branding, visual identity, and motion graphics, blending fine art techniques with digital media. Her work has earned her the Silas H. Rhodes Scholarship, along with professional experiences in branding, marketing, and exhibition design.
Originally from Shanghai, Crystal finds inspiration in everyday beauty—sunlight filtering through a window, a blooming flower on the sidewalk, or the simple joy of a home-cooked meal. These moments shape her artistic vision, whether she’s painting expressive compositions or crafting imaginative worlds for children’s books.
